Applying for a trademark is a necessary step in protecting your brand from copycats and people trying to steal your brand.
Obtaining a trademark consists of 4 steps:
Do a trademark search to make sure your mark can be registered
Find out which application is right for you
Fill out the application – you’ll need to provide basic information, drawings, and identify the goods or services your mark would provide
Submit your application and wait for a decision from The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
Once you apply for your trademark, there are 2 different results: approval and request for office action. If you receive the former, congratulations!
